Why Having a Party Theme is Good.

By

Your child’s birthday is coming up.  What are you going to do for it?  Where do you start?

Start with a party theme!

Having a theme for the party makes it so much easier for you to organise.   Usually we dither over what games we should arrange and how to keep the kids happy and occupied.  There is so much to choose from and the cost and effort involved varies such a lot.

A theme tells you what you need for food, music, decorations and costumes.  You can follow it through into the details by building games around the theme and even choosing prizes that match.

The theme instantly adds interest and excitment to the party.  Children have huge imaginations and it doesn’t take a lot to get them involved in the whole experience.  Theme parties are parties thay won’t forget.

It isn’t only kids who have the big imaginations.  You will find that a theme seems to set your own imagination free.  This party is one that you will enjoy organising and really get involved with.

A theme can be anything, depending on the age of your child.  Pirate and fairy themes are perennial favourites but you can also do parties based on a decade (eg 1980′s) or a type of music such as Abba or disco.   The theme can be influenced by the weather.  Summer party themes could be mermaids in the pool or tropical island castaways.

Does your child have a favourite food?  Perhaps a special colour or even a favourite activity? Build the theme around it.   Have a green party where even the food is green.  If your son loves football you could create a wonderful party around that.

Once you have chosen the theme the fun begins.  Shop for themed party basics, for table decorations and even candles that match the theme.  Look for loot to suit!  Chocolate coins make great loot for pirates while fairy wands are essentials for even the smallest fairy.

Pick a theme and be organised.  Pick a theme and your imagination will be set free again as it was when you were a child.
