Fruit and Veg as Party Food.

I was watching the Masterchef finale on Sunday night when I saw an ad for the upcoming Junior Masterchef.   When I saw what they were cooking I began to wonder if we underestimate what our kids are prepared to eat.   What do you think they would do if we introduced fruit and vegetables as part of the party food menu?

Tempura Vegetables and Kids Fruit Trifle are both healthy and intesting foods to eat.  They are colourful and look good to eat.  They are both easy to make.  Why not test them out at your next party.

The tempura vegetable recipe can be found at Taste.com.au but here is the recipe for the Kids Fruit Trifle – straight from Adam, Masterchef 2010.

Ingredients

85g Original Raspberry Jelly
300g Fresh or Frozen Raspberries
60g Chocolate Sponge, crumbled
Vanilla Custard, to serve

Method

1. Prepare jelly according to pack instructions, and then divide into 2 bowls.

2. To 1 bowl add raspberries, stir to combine and spoon into serving glasses. Place glasses and remaining bowl in fridge until jelly is set.

3. When set, divide the cake crumbs among the glasses.

4. Using a fork, crush the remaining jelly and spoon into the glasses. Top with custard to serve.

Now to convince the kids to eat them.  That is,  if you leave them any…….
